Venue:
The Union Yacht Club Attersee (UYCAs) was founded at the west side of Lake Attersee in the summer of 1886. As the oldest sailing club in Austria it has a strong history and is well known for its long-lived tradition, genuine hospitality and sportsmanship.
It is home of a few outstanding Austrian sailors in olympic as well as non-olympic classes. Supporting both sport and leisure sailing it offers its members and guests a wide range of facilities like a restaurant, a bar, a beach volleyball-court and a basketball goal. It is the largest sailing club in Austria and hosts several national and international regattas every year.
Lake Attersee is located amidst one of the most charming regions of Upper Austria, the Salzkammergut. With its blue lakes and imposing mountains it is blessed with excellent venues for all kinds of sports.
Due to thermal winds it is a consistently windy region and therefore internationally acknowledged for its excellent sailing conditions.
The turquoise lake Attersee - with a surface of almost 47 kmē and a length of 21 km - is the largest of all 76 lakes in the Salzkammergut. Particularly the so-called "Rosenwind" (an almost constant easterly wind of approximately 4 beaufort) guarantees exceptional sailing.
